• Duranta repens is a vigorous, upright-growing species that matures as a large, multi-stemmed shrub or can be trained into patio standard form trees.
• The variegated form is a select cultivar of Duranta repens with attractive green, white and purple variegated leaves that produces pendulant hanging clusters of elegantly colored, slightly tubular, nectar-rich, lavender flowers followed by long hanging streamers of bright yellow berries. The flowers and berries are a natural food source for birds, butterflies, and other wildlife, but are not edible for humans. They are easy to grow, establish quickly, are heat tolerant.
• Care: Easy to grow and quick to establish, this plant thrives in a permanent location with 4 to 6 hours of indirect light daily. Plant in fertile, well-draining soil and maintain consistent moisture. Prune after flowering to maintain shape and control size.
• Indoor Growing: This species is not well-suited for indoor growing and can be difficult to successfully overwinter due to its need for high light, warm temperatures with a day/night differential, and high humidity.
