Details: Fresh Sphagnum Moss is not only beautiful, it's useful. It can retain up 26 times it's dry weight in water. It is ideal for Orchids and Carnivorous Plants. You will receive an 6'x9 bag stuffed full of super fresh Sphagnum Moss. FAQ: 1. 'I found some twigs (or leaves, pine needles etc) in my moss, is that normal?' Yes that's completely normal. Sphagnum moss may contain some debris such as small twigs and/or other forest debris. This is harmless and occurs naturally. We do our best to groom the moss, but over-grooming can cause the moss to be shredded into pieces. 2. 'One side of the bag looks brown, is that normal?' Yes, totally normal. Please note- most of the photos depict Sphagnum moss acclimated and in use. The Sphagnum will arrive in a ziplock bag, and some bits may be laying flat, flipped upside-down etc. Sphagnum inside of a bag does not look identical to Sphagnum planted and flourishing. Sphagnum, like all moss, is green on the top only- the underside will be brown. It should be planted/placed with the brown part facing down. 3. 'How often should I water it?' This really depends on how it's being used. Sphagnum is a very functional moss, with many different potential applications. In general, if you are using it on it's own, in an open air terrarium or pot, watering every 2 to 3 days should be enough. If it looks and feels wet to the touch, it doesn't need watering. If it feels dry, give it a good misting.
