The Japanese Yew, also known as Podocarpus macrophyllus, is an evergreen conifer that is slow-growing tree or shrub with dark green, needle-like leaves that are 3–5 inches long and less than 0.5 inches wide. The leaves are arranged in dense spirals and have a soft, leathery texture. The tree has a dense, upright branching habit.
