Details: String of Turtles, or as it is also called Peperomia Prostrata or Jade Necklace, is an unusual semi-succulent trailing houseplant with variegated veins on the leaf plates, which resemble a shell of turtles. This plant looks really lovely indoors. Due to its cute leaf shapes and slow growth rate, the plant can be placed into fairy gardens or glass terrariums. It is an air-purifier, it absorbs harmful substances from the indoor air, which improves mood and removes stress after hard working day. It grows best in bright spots with no direct sunlight. It can tolerate medium light, but it grows slowly. Water the plant with approximately 1 glass of room temperature water when the top few inches of soil seem to be on drier side to the touch (about once a week depending on the growing conditions). Don’t let the plant sit in soggy soil. String of Turtles is shipped in 4.5” hanging basket. The plant prefers moderate air humidity. String of Turtles must be watered systematically, and moistened with a sprayer. It doesn’t stand drafts, which have negative effect on the plant. Feed the plant with organic or mineral fertilizer during spring and summer once in two-three weeks; in winter the feeding is reduced till once a month. The height of the plant shipped varies from 16” to 18” which is measured from the bottom of the pot to the very top of the plant. The width of the plant is between 6” to 8”. The repotting of the plant is made once in a few years in the early spring, since the soil can lose all its useful properties during this time.
