Details: Pinus densiflora 'Burkes Red Variegated' (Burkes Red Variegated Japanese Red Pine) * Full sun - Part shade * Zones 3-8 * 6' tall * 5' wide A NEW compact dwarf only reaching 6 feet after 10 years!! Absolutely stunning yellow variegation! Pinus densiflora 'Burkes Red Variegated' is a new compact dwarf with yellow banded variegation. This pine is a standout in the landscape, widely used because its bright color provides excellent contrast, and it makes a great focal point Burke Red Variegated Japanese Red Pine has attractive forest green foliage during the summer and when the weather starts to cool the yellow stripes start to be more prominent. The needles are ornamentally significant and turn chartreuse in fall. Burke Red Variegated Japanese Red Pine is a multi-stemmed evergreen tree with a distinctive and refined pyramidal form. Its average texture blends into the landscape, but can be balanced by one or two finer or coarser trees or shrubs for an effective composition. This is a relatively low maintenance tree. When pruning is necessary, it is recommended to only trim back the new growth of the current season, other than to remove any dieback. It has no significant negative characteristics. Companion Plants: Goes well with Pinus parviflora 'Glauca', Vanderwolf's Pyramid Pine, Thunderhead Pine as well as Black Bamboo. Check out our store for these great plants!
