Details: The Orange Mint plant is a fragrant, lush, attractive plant that is ideal for gardens and containers alike. The deep green leaves are tinted with shades of orangey-red, and it has a unique, citrusy aroma and flavor. Like all of the mint plants, Orange Mint is a great filler for bare spots in the garden, with the attractive leaves and beautiful pale purple flowers. The Orange mint is high in Vitamin A and C, so not only do the leaves add zest and zing to drinks and dishes, but they are good for you too. Picked fresh, the leaves are used in salads, desserts, and garnishes. It adds a refreshing taste when added to cold drinks, like teas and water, and makes a great mint sauce for lamb and fish. Dried Orange mint leaves can be used in potpourris and sachets to provide a fresh citrusy fragrance for your home Place plants 12-18 inches apart in a full sun to part sun location. A normal well- draining soil, with adequate watering is needed to keep the Orange Mint in top form. This variety of mint is heat and humidity tolerant so it can survive by water gardens and in moist parts of the garden. Lushest growth occurs in moist soil in partial shade. It will grow 12-24 inches tall, and will need frequent pruning to contain the plant to a specific area. Cut back in the fall, covering plant with leaves and grass clippings, the plant will return in the spring
