- 20 Green Elephant Ear Taro Bulbs. Also known as cocoyam, dasheen, eddo, egyptian ginger, imo, kalo, colocasia antiquorum, imo, Dalo, and Taro.
- Great for tropical and subtropical gardens, as well as indoors in large pots
- Easy to Grow and Highly Vigorous: These large taro bulbs are easy to grow and will multiply quickly. They prefer full sun to partial shade and moist but well-drained soil. They are frost sensitive and cannot tolerate temperatures below 50°F.
- Great Foliage Plant: Colocasia leaves are enormous, heart-shaped, and highly ornamental. They can reach 4-5 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide. The leaves are a rich, dark green color with prominent veins. In the fall, they can develop impressive red or purple accents.
- Showy Flowers: Colocasia esculenta plants produce small, fragrant flowers that resemble yellow calla lilies. The flowers emerge from the plant's trunk in the late summer, if the plant goes to flower
Details: This unique plant is a must-have for any collector of interesting and exotic plants. In the right environment, it can also be grown outdoors in USDA Zone 10. In colder climates, it can be grown indoors as a houseplant. Colocasia grows best in loose, rich soil that retains moisture but well-drained. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged during the growing season. Provide indirect sunlight. If you live in a cooler climate and want to try growing Colocasia outdoors, plant the tubers in mid-summer. Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil.
